Squirrel!

I saw the Chuck Nation Band over the weekend. Chuck is a member of the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame, a two-time Georgia State Fiddle Champion, Georgia State Mandolin Champion and a Louisiana State Fiddle Champion.

They were in Round Rock, TX and participated in concert, and a performance of the High Lonesome Bluegrass Mass, with the Round Rock Community Choir Round Rock Community Choir | Facebook , director David Allen, and conductor/composer Tim Sharp, at First United Methodist, Round Rock, TX First United Methodist Round Rock (fumc-rr.org) and the next morning at a Presby Church in Austin, TX. Although it wasn’t the typical bluegrass concert, it was good.

After that I went to a local jam! It was at a place called Sud’s Monkey Brewing Company in Dripping Springs, TX. I had not been there before and was really glad I went as there were some good pickers there! They pick every Sunday afternoon if you’re in the area. Just drive around back and park back behind the building.

Oh yeah… while I was driving between Austin and Bastrop I saw the famous Ms. Pearl.

It would be fun to go back and pick on Squirrel Hunter with Ms. Pearl in the background!

Cool, looks like a fun day. My brother lives in Dripping Springs (well just outside but that’s his address). If I visit through a Sunday I will check out that jam!
