So I’m sure none of y’all will be very surprised about any of this… for a little while I’ve been wanting a dobro, (like, kind of obsessing over it) and I didn’t have the money while we were stateside, and it’s doubtful that I can get one in south Africa, so I had an idea. One time Kanon (my older brother) made a one string soup can slide thing, which I could replicate, but I’m gonna try to do it double wide and with six strings. Hopefully, the end result will be a playable dobro. I’ll have to wait a while till we get some bamboo, and then I’ll have to get working. If it works really well, I’ll try to either steal some parts from my electric guitar or by some in SA and make it acoustic electric. But, first it’s gotta be built…
