Songster?

Howdy Ya’ll!

Quick question: Do they make the Recording King Songster Left Handed?
I’m on the look out for a really good banjo upgrade under $1,000.

Blessings.
Kaden Albritton.

Check with @Jake at the General Store if anyone knows he does and if he doesn’t he is the best guy to help you find a lefty

Will Do!

They make no more Recording King instruments (just went out of biz), so if we don’t have it, we won’t have it. If you find one online, better snatch it up.

So… they don’t even make guitars anymore?:worried:

The Music Link, who made Recording King, Loar, etc, is no longer making any instruments. They are done.

Bummer! That makes me wanna cry. :sob:

Gibson, Stelling and many others have gone down that route. I was luck and got my Stelling just before Geoff announced his retirement. I am not sure if that increased my Master Flowers value or not but with no more being built the demand becomes higher and I guess it follows that at least it will retain much of the value of it’s original purchase price.

Wow. I had no idea voting for Trump would disrupt the Bluegrass world.

At first, when looking at instruments, I always wanted to buy American-made. However, on YouTube, you can find videos of guitar factories in China, and I have to say it made me look at it differently. These people are working hard and doing a good job in a factory setting I would not want to work in. They are human beings just trying to have a trade and earn a living. The problem is they earn very low wages, so they are disruptors. Trump is right to raise tariffs so low-wage earners don’t wipe out our economy, but it’s too late because it’s been going on for 50 years. I hate to see people losing their livelihoods, but we have a lot of empty factories in this country due to countries like China undermining our workers with low-wage labor.

But this is way off topic for what @Chicken_wing wants to know.

I am sure there are many reasons they folded.
I have the Songster RK20. It took them months after a repeat Email to tell me a simple spec… question. This was a year or so back. This kind of experience is not the way to build brand loyalty for certain. But it made me search out other options and I found Deering. They answered me in hours. That brought me here to Banjo Ben’s Store etc. So a bad experience just opened up other mighty fine doors as they say.:sunglasses:
