So I went to the doctor in Nashville

Scheduled a regular ol’ visit to re-up my heartburn prescription with my family doc.

Appointment was at 11. He showed me a new guitar he got from Gruhn Guitars. I told him I just took some campers to Gruhn Guitars.

He said he was going to pick up George Gruhn (his neighbor) from the tire shop and invited me to go and then have lunch. I said yes.

Tire shop called during our Mexican lunch and said they couldn’t have George’s car ready today, so he had no way to get back to the store.

I volunteered to drive him. We had a great talk about the biosphere and sustainability in instrument-making.

He invited me up to talk snakes and guitars, I of course said yes.

He then asked me to create an entire video series with him about vintage instruments. I said yes.

I drove home, laughing and shaking my head at how I’ve have these crazy days in Nashville.

It will be a while, will be quite the production. Mr. Gruhn already has many thousands of my savings, hahaha.

You know what I love about this story… the Boss move of having lunch at a Mexican restaurant with the Doctor you just went to see about heartburn. That made me smile. Seriously, what a cool story and will look forward to those sessions.

I love this story. All I can think of is that old saying “Luck is when preparation meets opportunity.”

I met George Gruhn in January 2020 when he sold me my Sinker D-18. Thanks to him, I bought the best guitar in the world (it wasn’t at all what I was planning on purchasing). He was incredibly nice and spent several hours with my family up there on the second floor, sharing his amazing insight about music, history, and guitars with us. Definitely an experience I won’t forget!

I only know “snakes and ladders” aka “chutes and ladders”, something to play and not talk!

With George’s interest in snakes, I’m curious to know if they had any RattleSnake Mandolins there?

Yay! The problem with George is that it’s hard to get an opinion out of him . That is sarcasm, but in a good way. I have had several similar instances as Libby mentioned where I didn’t get what I expected. A few times, I have called and asked them to pick one for me

I guess those plans to move back to Texas have taken a back seat now that this happened AND Whataburger came to town!

We got my guitar online from Gruhns last year. They said they picked the best one and I believe it! It’s also a sinker D18.
