Six Days Without A Banjo

We traveled 3,000 to visit my daughter in her new home near Yosemite California. It’s a lovely place, but nowhere near the Deering factory so I still have that visit on my bucket list.
She’s wonderful, her new home is wonderful, everything is good, but I had no banjo for six days! But my daughter is a very clever person, and as soon as she noticed me getting antsy with banjo withdrawal symptoms she would say, “Daddy, do you know how to fix a leaky toilet, because I think I have two of them.”
“Daddy, do you think you could install my new screen door? I just bought it.”
“Daddy, I have to go to the hardware store and get a couple things for the house. Would you like to go?”

Some people may grimace when they see the price of an upperline banjo.
They wonder how they could justify spending that much on a banjo.
I never realized being without a banjo could be so expensive!

But the toilets don’t leak, the screen door is hung by the front door with care and there are light bulbs in places where she can’t reach.

Much to my surprise, when I picked my banjo today after returning home early this morning, I could still play 90% of "“Devil’s Dream!”
There is happiness on the East coast and the West coast tonight! I even got to breath Texas air when we changed planes in Dallas. Texas might be big, but the walk from where we landed and where we departed is even bigger!

You’re so kind, but I suspect you’re just saying that because you know how big Texas is and you know how big DFW is!
