Note: This really happened to me. I ordered a coffee and a bacon roll in a small café recently the casher asked me where I was sitting, There was only one other customer in the café at the time, a woman .

Reminds me of a guy I used to each lunch with on occasion. We would meet at a sandwich shop where they would ask your name so they could call you back to the counter when you order was ready. He always paid in cash, and thought of this request for his name as an invasion of his privacy. His typical response would be something like, “54”.
