Roll Discipline

Yesterday evening I decided to go out on the back porch and play my banjo a little. After a few minutes of playing, I felt a sharp sting on my pinky finger of my right hand. Without stopping the roll I was playing, I looked down and saw a giant mosquito sitting on my pinky finger that was braced on the banjo head. The darn thing was the size of a humming bird and full of my blood. Without stopping my roll, I reached over with my left hand (good thing I was in the G part of the song and didn’t need to fret any notes) and swatted the critter dead. As I smashed it, I got blood all over my left hand which went right back to the neck and into a C chord. The blood got all over the neck of my banjo and made it all sticky. As I played on, I was kind of proud of my roll disciple. I started wondering what the worst thing is that has happened to people as they played, but they just kept rolling and didn’t miss a beat.
