He was one of the best, no doubt about it. Wouldn’t you love to have lived nearby and been able to attend those performances? I’m a little surprised by the sparse turnout. Maybe if they put a smoker out front and turned it into a bbq and bluegrass venue it might have attracted a larger crowd.

Why not a bigger crowd? Location, location, location.
Raymond did not like to travel beyond his home stompin’ grounds. The Maggie Valley Opry House (Maggie Valley NC) was his home…and the site of this tribute.
