Potential Guitar Virtual Cabin Camp

I’ve been considering a guitar-only virtual Cabin Camp for mid-year. With all the feedback on Cody Kilby lately (for good reason), he’d be a pick for one of the teachers. Who else would y’all want to see come alongside him for an evening of learning?

As a banjo player, I’m probably not the best person to answer this question, but I really love Jake’s playing. I don’t know anyone who can tell a story with notes the way he does. He’s one of the most underrated guitarists I know of.

Jake or Zeb would be fun. Tony Watt is also a great teacher with a unique style.

A vote for Jake Workman from me.

I’d like to put in a 4-way vote for Jake, Kenny, Ron, or Zeb.

Oh shoot. I forgot there were two Jakes we talk about here. I was talking about Jake Stogdill.

But Jake Workman is awesome too!

I couldn’t agree more about Tony Watt. He’s fantastic. Just like Ben, both of them have a genuine passion for sharing their knowledge. You can really tell they care about their students and love what they do.

Speaking of unique styles, another Tony comes to mind. Tony Wray, also one of my favorites. The first time I saw him, he was playing guitar for Dan Tyminski. Dan was supposed to do a mandolin workshop, but he needed his beauty rest, so Tony and Justin Moses (who was playing fiddle) took over and did the workshop. That was still, to this day, the best and most productive workshop I’ve ever attended. He’s also the star of my favorite Pro Picker series.

For starters, count me in!

But I’m not gonna lie, with me being rather new to the Bluegrass world and as a member here under a year, Jake Stodgill’s name is the only one I recognize. Time with him would be awesome! But I love that this thread is bringing other names to my attention that are now on my listening/watching radar

One of my favorite lessons on the whole site is the one with Jed Clark! I use those chords/concepts he taught a LOT when I play.
