Play It The Way Archie Says..Or Else!

Over the past year & a half, I have come to greatly respect Archie’s tips & advice. It is well thought-out, based on real world experience and he can “walk the walk.”

So if Archie gives you a tip or advice, I strongly encourage you to follow it precisely, or be prepared to face the consequences!

Thank you @BanJoe but the real hero here is @BanjoBen not me. I just kinda point folks in a direction where hopefully they will find answers to their queries. You know like that helpful shop assistant in Walmart when you ask her where the baked beans are, she doesn’t just tell you, she takes you right to them. Then the embarrassing moment when you realise the beans are right there on the shelf where you looked a few moments ago.

Full Disclosure - I actually lifted the picture from the website of a band called “The Fountaineers,” - A Glasgow-based Bluegrass & roots music band.
Thy are good enough to get a spot at the IBMA’s this year!

I just couldn’t resist posting the pic. There is an impetuous imp that dwells within me, and sometimes he comes out to play.

Not to change the subject, but this is hilarious. Walmart must be very different where you are.

Oh yes over here Asda which was owned by Walmart up until quite recently all the floor staff are very helpful in fact all the major supermarkets have that level of customer service at least here in Scotland they do. In fact they will even help you to your car with your shopping if your elderly, disabled or have young children.

I agree… the baked beans are never where I look.

I think that’s why we’ve got such friendly floor assistants they keep moving stuff around the store I guess so you’ll have a reason to ask I can’t see any other reason for it.

Hi @BanJoe I haven’t come across this band before, mind you that’s not surprising since I haven’t been oot much these days. Good to know bands are starting to come out of the woodwork after covid. That banjo player is really good.

The mandolin player in the picture is Radim Zenkl. I don’t believe he is part of the Fountaineers. He must have been performing along side them? He is based in the Czech Republic, and is one of the mandolin greats.

Here is profile of the band from their website. As you can see they are not all Scots. The Banjo player Rob Hart hails from Hickory, North Carolina, Jeri Forman fiddle comes from Australia. Callum Morton-Teng mandolin doesn’t say where he is from as is the case with Michael Wright guitar. Maybe not a Scottish Bluegrass band but a Scot’s based bluegrass band. So it kinda answers my curiosity on who the banjo player is and what his background is.
