Since I started playing banjo again last October, I have been practicing about an hour a day. Working slowly through songs, trying to be accurate and focusing on timing. I have made some progress getting away from tab and have cleaned up my playing a little. But, yesterday I only had about 20 minutes to practice and I found myself playing everything fast, trying to get as much into a short session as possible. The next thing I knew, I was flying through songs, running tunes together, and rolling through my many mistakes like they never happened. I was playing sloppy, out of time, and at break neck speed. I played that banjo like I stole it! Wasn’t a great practice session from an improvement aspect, but darn it was fun!
Play it like you stole it!

Hahah, it was! I just have to avoid the temptation to practice like that all the time!
