Other Hobbys question
Bible study, puzzle solving, Nerf blaster modding, writing, grammar, science, history, politics… not much of an athlete
Hey Don, I’m a bowler too and I also coached a high school team… what a coincidence! I have been through a bunch of hobbies over the years. In recent years, I have been mountain biking more than anything else. Since Covid started I have taken up slacklining, renovating a media room and am learning Spanish.
Tell me more!
So over the years, there has been a growing group of people who played with stock Nerf blasters when they were kids or something, and thought “I wonder if I can make this lousy thing better”. It used to be that people would just take the stock Hasbro guns and change out the springs, motors, etc., but thanks to the technology of 3D printing, “Nerf” modding and gameplay has grown to a point where people use actual Nerf products less and less, making their own designs from the ground up. These videos are some great examples of the hobby:
Let’s practice together!
That looks awesome. I have a friend that 3D printed a Glock knock off. It worked, but the plastic was fracturing around some pins. I think nerf printing is more my speed.
Muy bueno! Yo hablo un poco espanol, pero quiero aprender mas.
After about 9 months of duolingo I am getting pretty decent requesting certain food and finding a bathroom.
@Mike_R that’s some pretty neat stuff there Was into paintball wars for a bit but those things you are into look less painful and a whole lot cleaner
@Mike_R I have lived in Arizona for most of my 61 years and I still can not speak much Spanish
Got into bull dogging and bull riding for a bit but decided that was to dangerous after I broke my back
also tore every ligament in both ankles completely loose and multiple concussions
Got into wood working quite a bit and using my knowledge in wood working I am in the process of building myself a Gourd Banjo
When I was younger, I had a host of hobbies. Landscape Gardening, Model Boat Building, Genealogy & Old Maps, Painting By Numbers, Fixing Cars. Standard Bearer & Marching, Website Building & Design. Computer Art, Did a bit of traveling round Australia.
Since retiring my hobbies are the banjo and exploring the internet, watching documentary films and spending time with the family.
I speak Spanish and Portuguese, we should all go for a Spanish speaking only beer round sometime
My other hobbies are playing music at church (usually not bluegrass), building a model railroad, railfanning (running and driving around taking pictures and videos of trains), taking apart and building computers, skiing (I teach ski lessons), and, well, school.
Me and you both bro, I used to do that a bit, mostly using CAD design and 3D printing.
I spend most of my hobby time playing Banjo and Bass guitar but I also like gardening , books , wine making (and drinking) , Fishing and Computer games
I decided to learn French this year, we will see
It seems I am really good at emojis too
Fishings probably my top. I’d drop everything I was doing if I got an invite to go. Also enjoy
reading if not informative probably will always see me with a mystery. I usually enjoy any kind of puzzle ( jigsaw, numbers, brain, word). I think I managed a 750 piece in 7hr one time, working on and off. Really into classic movies, trivia, and enjoy teaching my dogs new tricks.
Oh boy a place to post about my nutsy hobbies!
Well everybody tells me that I have too many, but most of my so called hobbies are more working skills than anything, but any way.
I’m an arborist, starting out in blacksmithing, planning to homestead a cabin in my forest, I make bricks out of clay on our property, I have started collecting working antiques to put them back into service for my homestead projects, my first purchase was a White treadle sewing machine. I’m also a butcher, part time logger, and I love splitting firewood by hand. my sister calls me mountain man.
If you can’t tell I love to work I’m 17 and I worked for someone for 6 years. Not that any of this was bragging, I’m just telling you about myself.
oh man. I love fishing and i go out with some buddys at least once a week in the summer, sometimes more. One of my biggest would be mountain biking. I got a new bike last year and really enjoy freestyle jumps, burms, dropoffs and so on. I don’t know if anyone has heard of discgolf, but its a newish sport that is really growing in popularity. it is WAY funner than golf and a lot less frusterating. Iplay that one at home and several times a week. Probably rivaling biking as my favorite sport. Besides that, i am into a lot of different sports such as volleyball, hockey, spikeball, table tennis, and so on. Other hobbys would include wood working, mainly with epoxy, building river tables and stuff like that. If you’ve never heard of epoxy river tables, look it up. They are very beautiful and a lot of fun to make. Other than that, my only other hobby that i can think of is BANJO BEN’S FORUM.
I like discgolf and used to play a little with my uncle back in IL, but I am terrible…
My hobbies: Whiskey and Rum tasting Likes to go to the forest, make a fire, have a barbecue, take the kids for a walk. Had aquariums for a long time. and yes, Spanish is also very cool. I learned a little when I was in a bible school in Argentina for a year, but it was already 13 years ago … I also enjoy being in the garden, and am also interested in birds and other animals…play tennis, and bowling…
