Once more, Farewell

…to David Anthony Rice (one year ago), to James Dee Crowe (one day ago), to all the other beloved we said goodbye to this year, and to the fleeting memories of the past.

Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. –James 4:13-15

Goodbye to another 365-day long period of the vapour.

The moral of the story:

Have Mercy, Will Travel. :slight_smile:

Psalm 103:15-18
15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
16 For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
17 But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;
18 To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

That’s so beautiful. A fiddle version of this was played at my Dad’s funeral. Thanks for sharing.
