hmm… a different salutation! I’m familiar with Jehovah Shalom.
Shabbat shalom was the special greeting for the Sabbath, or Shabbat, the seventh day of the week. Jehovah shalom, or more commonly just, shalom, was the every day greeting for the Jews.
I see… First time I’m hearing though. I know Shalom means Peace. I think one of the judges, Gideon I believe, built an alter and called it Jehovah Shalom. Shabbat - Sabbath, ok, and that’s what I thought.
Yeah, it’s interesting that “Elohai” should come up now. In the Bible institute I’m dual-enrolled in, we’re studying the names of God right now. Haven’t gotten to that one yet, but it’s a fascinating study! I’m graduating this semester, and it’s been a great course!
Sure! I remember attending VBS classes when I was a kid and learning God’s names - Jehovah with something - for each one of the 10 days of classes, with Jehovah Shalom being the VBS theme.
That said, nowadays, I’m fully taught by God. You can’t even understand how it is to be! And how do I describe - most fascinating??
