For anyone interested who likes clawhammer and is in the market for a new open back, I would like to respectfully recommend Nate Calkins Banjos. Haunting, hollow tone, like wind through a knothole that something may or may not be hiding in. This model (The Swift) has no tone ring, and doesn’t need one. I’m very glad I went with this and not with a Deering OTW. If I ever find the confidence, I may post a video.
