Name this chord

What is this banjo chord: !st string-9th fret
2nd string 10th fret
3rd string 11th fret
I have found a use for it but don’t know what it is? Thanks. db

Without touching my banjo, I think it’s a D6, but I might be wrong

Ding ding ding! I’m not a banjo player, but I think that makes (from low to high) D F# A B. Mr Slayer would seem to be correct. Am I correct in assuming you wouldn’t play the 5th string G such a chord?

You assume right I am only using those 3 strings. Thanks. db

I think that not including the D in the chord kind of makes it a situation where what it is depends on the context. If played over a D root or chord structure: a D6, B root: Bmin7, F# root: an F#m with a 4. I suspect there are other possible names. I suggest we name the chord “Bob.”
