My pick is cracking! HELP!

I have a T/S pick that has a little chip in it and I noticed it is starting to spread. I have a jam in a few hours and was wondering how to fix it. Super glue? Epoxy?

Thanks,

Glue sounds like a bit of a sketchy idea. It’d be better if you can reshape the pick with fine grit sandpaper past the chip. It will end up being smaller than it was, but that’s the sacrifice you make with tortoise… they wear down and require reshaping more frequently than others.

That’s what I wanted to do, but I was given the pick by a guy who wouldn’t use it because it was already so small. It’s about the size of a dunlop jazz 3.

If you can’t go smaller, sounds like some sort of reinforcement is the only choice. An absolute guess would be that epoxy would be the best bet, but I’d get the slow cure/strong stuff and forego wanting to use it tonight. An interweb search might prove benficial.

I know it’s not always easy to replace, but if I ever got a crack or chip in a pick that’s when I’d just get another one. They honestly aren’t meant to last forever.

Remember the good old days before boutique picks when it was just “My pick is cracked. Better throw it away and get another one.”?
