Yep, we are headed to Texas. I’ll post official listing soon but here’s a preview video. Tell your friends who are looking for a pad to host Cabin Camps!
My house...for sale?
That’s a HUGE market!
BTW, Wecome home!
If you are willing to live in Beckville and do a real estate swap, there is plenty of room here to build a big ol’ covered porch.
Maybe this is weird, but watching that video brought on a little sadness. I have a lot of great memories on that property. As the drone was flying around, my mind kept thinking “that’s where I met so and so” and “that’s where I picked whatever song.”
I’m really going to miss making more memories there.
@BanjoBen Can you no get these laddies to move the hoose tae Texas ? How far is it from Tennessee to Texas any how. Cannae be awe that far.
Like @Mark_Rocka even though I have never been to Nashville I feel it’s home and I shall really miss not seeing video’s of the old cabin and clips of the Cabin Camps.
I had just started planning my to-be-determined week long trip to the Nashville area, centered around my Cabin Camp debut. Maybe you can rent it from the buyer for the occasional cabin camp.
That’s what I’m praying for! I’m hoping a prior Cabin Camper might want an investment property in Nashville.
I felt the exact same way.
It is so far that by the time he completes his move this way, Ben will be your current age!
Hold on, as long as you’re prayin’ …let me go buy a lottery ticket. If I hit it I’ll buy it.
@BanjoBen, you did a beautiful job on the video!
You have a beautiful home.
@Mark_Rocka & @scott_wilson, I’m in the same boat with both of you. I have fond memories made there as well.
Ours will be going on market at 1st of yr. Developers just snatched up 225 acres that borders my place…and they need my land (60 acres) for a road and to run sewage down to connect a 600 acre dev (Dell Webb out on 96, I am in behind that) with a 225 acre development.
We get at least 8-10 calls/month or people driving back here asking if we’d sell. …crazy. With our son being invited to AF Academy and wants to be pilot? That’s a 15 yr committment… he’s not coming back. Two girls over in Knox (college) and they are staying/both graduating this year (one with masters)…time to sell, held onto this place for the 3 kids to build one day…if they are not coming back? Then I’ll take the $3-$4 mil and stick it in my pocket.
I’m going to pick up the clubs again, make a run at the Senior Golf Tour. Going to do that by hitting 500 balls a day and playing 7 days a week…like back in college when I was playing golf! To do that? We are going to build over in Knoxville on this place…
I was out in Colorado this summer, stayed at a buddy’s place - he’s menonite. Bunch of Menonites and Amish rolled in. They built a roof for a 3 car garage on posts while waiting on concrete to set and walls to go up…I helped those fellas rig it up on a crane then move that entire roof onto the garage. Non-Amish or Menonites there? Looked at me and said “no way, that roof will fall apart”…I said “Those fellas are mastercraftsmen, know what they are doing, and they’ll have that roof on there and tacked down in less than 20 minutes” ha ha…took them 15.
About the only group of people that I like working with…because they work! Not lazy like most.
Welp, the house is under contract and I’m neck-deep in contractors trying to work my way through the inspection punchlist.
We close Nov. 14 and the buyer is giving us 30 days to move out. Let’s just say the time around Thanksgiving will be a bit hectic this year. Good news is that the buyer says (at least for now) that he’d be interested in renting me the house for camps…we shall see.
All that to say, the next 90 days are gonna be the craziest of my life…so far. We’ll be moving everything we own 650 miles while holding a camp and during holidays (and Black Friday/Cyber Monday!!). Once I’m in Texas I’ll have to scramble to get a recording configuration setup so I can start pumping out content again. During the next few months I need y’alls’ help on the forum greeting new folks, answering questions, and showing me grace when I’m not able to be here as much as I want. Of course, you already do all of those things already!
Love you all and I’m excited to one day be contributing to this forum from the Texas farm.
I’m happy we’ll be able to visit you without making a fuel stop!
Goes without saying - SOP’s always kick in when your not here to answer the call. Good luck with the move.
Good luck with the move!
Prayers for a smooth, safe move and an easy adjustment to all the changes! We’ll hold things down here without you. Who’s going to make the funny Thanksgiving videos though?
I bet @Dragonslayer and @Michael_Mark could work together and make the Thanksgiving humor video of the century.
I know, we’re sad that we won’t be able to do a big production this year, but should be back on schedule next year. Hopefully I can squeeze out a silly one or two next month.
