What was it that first got you interested in playing the guitar, mandolin or banjo?
Nobody in my immediate family played any instrument, But I had uncles who did play guitar and fiddle and bass and sang. I loved holidays when they would come over and play and sing. They’d hand me their guitar and teach me some chords. But I didn’t have a guitar of my own. So when they left I had to wait until the next gathering.
How long have you been playing and what’s your motivation to play?
Well I finally got my own guitar. But owning one and playing serious are 2 different things. So I would say I have been playing pretty serious for 5-6 years.
What’s your favorite lesson on Ben’s site and how has it helped you improve?
for me I like simple but powerful tunes like Amazing Grace
What’s your goal when playing?
Be able to sit in on jams and keep up with what is being played and hopefully add something to the jam
Are there any other instruments or genres of music that you enjoy playing?
would like to play the banjo and fiddle some day
How long have you been a Gold Pick member?

If you could play in anyone’s band, who would it be and why?
I would like to add a fiddle to The Banjo Ben General Store Boys. LOL
What type of gear or accessories have you found that work best for you?
any type a technology that makes learning easier and fun
If money was no object, what would be your dream instrument(s)?
A nice old Martin
If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
practice more.
Anything else you’d like to add?
I have enjoyed my time be a part of this group of people that are leaning and teaching. I hope to be a part of this until the Lord calls me home.
