Anybody else have a problem with their middle finger dropping deep and scratching the head?
It’s okay under slow controlled. But happens a lot as I speed up. Any tricks or exercises to fix this?

Yes I had that problem. Cure: slowed down and adjusted my hand position, much trial and error. Best advice I can offer is to study @BanjoBen 's right hand position.

Yes, it could be a number of issues, but mostly likely due to loss of control when you’re trying to play fast. It’s a very common thing, and fixable if you work specifically on it. It would really help if you could make a video up close of your right hand and post it here.
