Mandolin learning

Trying to get more accuracy in both right and left hands. First question, should I rest any part of my right hand on the mandolin?

I’m not much of a mandolin player, but I typically lightly rest my picking hand on the strings behind the bridge. I think this video covers it a little, and it mentions more in depth video you can reference for this subject.
