Loretta Lynn Dies age 90
Loretta was the first concert I ever went to. It was in Great Adventure, NJ, and I only went cause I was about 10 years old and with my parents on vacation.
I was no country music fan at the time, and probably had no idea what kind of music I liked. The thing I remember more than anything though, is how great her backup band was. All I can really remember about Loretta is that her singing sounded exactly like she did on her albums my dad used to play.
She made a lot of great music!
My parents had just a few records (definitely less that 10) and 3 or 4 were Loretta Lynn / Conway Twitty albums. When I got satellite radio, Loretta Lynn was one of the singers I made sure my daughters listened to because I heard so much when I was young.
There won’t be another like her.
I had the privilege of working for Ms. Loretta a few times–not in the band. I actually drove her bus, lol. She was always very kind and gracious to me.
