Lindblom Family

Hi @Flatpickin_Libby been watching Leo play his banjo and mandolin I am just curious. How many siblings do you have? How many play musical instruments and what do the play?

I am one of twelve children none of my siblings play a musical instrument neither of my parents played an instrument. I ponder why I am the odd one out. I should add all my siblings are over 70 now.

There are 9 of us siblings!

Luke is 24 - he plays mainly dobro, also banjo and guitar

I’m 22 - I play mainly guitar, a little bass, and enough piano to teach beginner students

Lucy is 20 - she plays mainly mandolin, as well as some guitar, bass, and piano

Timothy is 18 - he plays banjo and guitar

Linus is 16 - he plays fiddle, guitar, and mandolin

Logan is 15 - he plays bass and a little guitar and is supposed to be learning harmonica

Liam is 13 - he is learning fiddle and dobro

Levi is 11 - he plays banjo and is also working on fiddle

Leo is 8 - his main instrument is mandolin but he’s also learning guitar, banjo, and fiddle (and bangs around on the bass and is begging for a dobro)

Mom plays fiddle and piano; Dad plays bass (and trumpet but he hasn’t played it in years)

That’s great that you are one of 12!

'I ponder why I am the odd one out."

I can’t answer that for another person with certainty but could be something as simple as a desire to do your own thing.

I like that!! It sounds like you have a really fun family too. We are almost all L’s, Timothy had to be the weird one, not sure why.

They’re… Interesting :joy: My two older sisters are “Ew, bluegrass is hillbilly” type people, my 16 year old sister and 12 year old brother are usually cool, and then the youngest ones are just absolutely nuts. Most little kids are though :joy:

I’ve wondered about that :joy:

I miss our little boys being little though. How fun to have a 3-year-old in the house.

He’s a nice little guy. Little girls are way harder to deal with than little boys (in our family at least ) and most of the younger ones are girls. :joy:

Terrible Two’s, boy’s for sure and Teen Tantrums for girls. My two youngest granddaughters recently turned 16 all I can say is I no longer have to deal with that anymore. My parenting days are over. Not sure if I am sad or glad.

I doubt that’s necessarily true; at least try having 6 little brothers in a row and then consider. :grinning: I think all little children are a challenge but also a sweet gift, and when you’re kind to them you always bring out the best in them.

I’m going to have to think about naming our next kid “Me”. I’ve never heard of that one before!
