Libby and I are in this video
Cool…that was lot of work for a lot of folks. Nice job @Mason_Crone and @Flatpickin_Libby!
Thanks!
Libby that solo just screamed Jake Workman.
Ah that’s so cool! Mason and Libby, you both killed it! Mason, I see your playing your new mandolin.
Thanks! Yeah, I’ll always be playing it when I play mandolin. My break was pretty bad, not very tasteful but hopefully I’ll get better over time.
It was great! Very clean and tasteful.
Sounded fine to me. I’ve just started learning triplets not too long ago. pretty tough
Yeah, they can be hard. I think it would’ve sounded better if I alternated between the normal melody and triplets. It was also kind of a joke because when Marcel announced that we were doing it at 90 BPM I was like “That’s sloooow” So I just did triplets for the whole thing. I think it would’ve sounded better if I hadn’t though.
What was your A part like? Sorry I didn’t get to hear it.
Triplets are hard- you did well. I inserted a few triplets but they were the hammer-on triplets (aka cheating)
Thanks. The A part was just a “triplety” St Anne’s Reel. I was kinda disappointed that Marcel only used half of it because playing triplets for 50 seconds ain’t easy I understand that he had to cut some stuff though to keep the video from being an hour long.
Great job y’all! @Mason_Crone nothing wrong with one of those breaks where you just goof off, especially in an extended jam… just ask The Dragon!
I’m thinking about doing this song for Galax. I have no luck coming up with a song to do but I could take this one slow and maybe do some cool stuff with it.
Thanks. I thought you said you didn’t like this song…
I don’t…
Speaking of goof off breaks, my sister and I were playing Cold Frosty Morning the other day and on my third break I decided to just do whatever my fingers wanted to. It turned out pretty cool, my sister laughed I’ve been working a lot on improv. It gets easier over time, still got a long way to go. It’s something I kinda ignored until I met @Dragonslayer and realized I had to just play the same break over and over. I want to be able to do new stuff each time.
Sounds like a good Galax song to me! I worked on my arrangement for a while today. It’s 2/3 done! (and a lot of Jake)
Let’s see it!
Great artists in the making! You both were awesome and others too! And nice music to top it off.
Ok but that triplet solo was really cool. It’s something I would do for my third or fourth solo in a jam or something.
Literally the best person to jam with!!
