Leroy Troy - Ghost Chickens In The Sky
Leroy Troy was always one of my favorite parts for The Marty Stuart Show.
Is a subscription required to watch the Marty Stuart Show?
I’m not sure, I would see it on the RFD Channel when I had had Dish Network.
I’m sorry, but I put too much work into practice to have much appreciation for the banjo clowns. I know pickers like Ronnie Stoneman, String Bean, Granpa Jones, even Roy Clark on occasions, put on the country yokel act for entertainment.
I know the history of the banjo was that the banjo player was either an eye-rollin’ blackfaced minstrel or some other goofball for comedy relief, and when Earl Scruggs showed up a lot of that changed. But even George D. Hay, founder of the Grand Ol Opry, reportedly said about Earl, “He sure can pick, but he ain’t one bit funny.”
Yes, Leroy Troy is a fine banjo player. But he sure makes it easier for people to ask me how long I’ve been married to my sister.
Scotland has its fair share of clown entertainers. Like the Irish we are the butt of English jokes. We don’t take it to heart the way Americans do. But I guess there are some nasty people over that side of the pond.
RFD comes with most cable packages and the satellite networks. If you don’t have one of these, subscriptions are available for 9.99 per month. wtachrfdtv.com
Has some entertaining shows. Saw Ben’s sisters on there a few years back.
Is that a FREE to subscribe TV Jack ?
Sorry Archie, no. It’s 9.99 per month or 89.99 per year. Maybe they’d offer a free trial. Not sure.
Thanks Jack
