i love the sound he makes when playing, would like someone to explain his technique for me its above my pay grade

I must confess I had never heard of Larry Pennington until I saw your post. I would say Larry was greatly influenced by Earl Scruggs and JD Crowe. His up the neck backup in these two videos is amazing. Maybe @BanjoBen knows more.

thanks for your reply, he played a long time with the bluegrass band big country and there is something about how he plays that i like.
