We spent a few days this week at Myrtle Beach, SC and while driving around saw a big Duplin Winery (made in NC) retail store where they offer tasting experiences. I had an little bit of down time one afternoon and decided to go give it a try. It was fun, and enjoyed the little show and snacks, even though I don’t care much for sweet wines (turns out that’s primarily what they bottle). Anyway, afterwards I sat out on the patio to finish my snacks and a glass of wine and was treated to a show! Duplin Winery brings in local musical artists for shows ( see https://www.duplinwinery.com/music-in-the-courtyard). I was fortunate enough to be there when fiddler Curtis Lee and his wife, Ruth were performing.
Curtis Lee traveled and performed with Mac Wiseman and performed with various other big name artists through the years. Anyway, it was real treat to hear him play and I can tell you, he’s still got it! He even sang with Ruth on New River Train.
