Jerry Douglas is like the common thread running through modern bluegrass. If someone is ever telling you about a landmark bluegrass album from the last 40 years that you don’t recognize, but you still want to sound smart, just say, “Jerry Douglas plays on that, right?”. Nine times out of ten they will nod approvingly.
