What was it that first got you interested in playing the guitar, mandolin or banjo?

How long have you been playing and what’s your motivation to play?
6 years on the banjo, I can’t get enough of it. My two young sons really enjoy bluegrass, keeps me going.
What’s your favorite lesson on Ben’s site and how has it helped you improve?
All of it is so helpful, my favorite would have to be Cherokee Shuffle for banjo
What’s your goal when playing?
Enjoy it! Even a little progress goes a long way when learning to pick faster. Be patient and enjoy the ride! Makes practicing go by fast when you love the music you play.
Are there any other instruments or genres of music that you enjoy playing?
During the summer I get to play bass in a jazz quartet, guitarron in a Mariachi band, and cello with an orchestra (quite the mix!)

Do you have a favorite technique? What is it?
I use the single-string banjo technique a lot. Love it!
If you could play in anyone’s band, who would it be and why?
We Banjo 3 is a fun band, excellent time choices and arrangements
What type of gear or accessories have you found that work best for you?
Shubb Capos are amazing, I bought 4 even though I can only play with one at a time!
If money was no object, what would be your dream instrument(s)?
More banjos for sure.
If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
Go for a run, pick more fiddle tunes on the banjo
