"It Was, Like, You Know, It Was Like Really..."

Who can’t resist a good headline? This one caught my eye.

“Asteroid the size of 350 giraffes to fly past Earth this week.”

And I thought it was difficult to get my mind wrapped around music theory!

That’s a bit unsettling :joy:

Of course, that makes perfect sense. The standard unit for asteroid size is the giraffe.

I hear that there is regional debate about whether the Reticulated Giraffe or the Masai Giraffe should be the base unit.

Actually, I believe that AccuWeather got its units confused. Giraffe is obviously a unit of length. For volume, maybe they could use the Olympic-size swimming pool.

That was extraordinarily helpful. I don’t know if I’m lysdexic, but I always confuse my giraffes with my Devon fatberg.

If only there was a way to convert less time into extra hours!

Volume wise the asteroid is equivalent to 872 x 10^6 gallons of vomit. Who makes these calculations?

Scientists make these calculations, so they must be scientific.
And that means more funding is needed for further study.

I just wish that the speed limit signs used the percentage of maximum velocity of a sheep in a vacuum.

Someday they will. Until then, we can only dream.
