After taking a bit of a break from overloading my brain, I started working on a new song. Unfortunately, I hate the song. It’s fingernails on the blackboard for me. The reasons are many & probably pretty foolish, but so what?
However, I felt I needed to learn the song since it’s part of the course.
Didn’t matter. I hate the song, I hate playing the song and it got to the point where I hated to pick up my banjo in order to play that song.
When confronted by an obstacle, you can go through it, over it, under it or around it.
I opted for going around it. I quit trying to learn the hated song and skipped around it to another song. Now I am happy to pick up my banjo & work on a lesson.
And here’s what I learned: I don’t have to know everything. When everybody is jamming to the hated song, it’s OK if I go looking for a snack.
It’s nice to be on good terms with my banjo again!
