Hurdy Gurdy?

I’ve never heard of a Hurdy Gurdy, am I the only one?? Sounds like it is akin to the fiddle, turning the crank dances something similar to a bow across the strings…

I love the hurdy gurdy!! It’s really fun to say in a Swedish accent, try it

I think these videos were my first exposure to gurdying, and since then I’ve seen and heard lots of cool, more traditional music played by them. I really want one…

Heh. She said “Iconic Git-her riffs”

I don’t know what accent that is, but I like it.

They are cool, I had never heard one before. Ger O’Donnell’s videos frequently has some sort of different instrument. This is the first video I saw him in, still not sure what instrument he is playing. Some sort of mandolin, guitar cross?? Maybe a mandolin on steroids…

It’s either an octave mandolin or a bouzouki. I’d call it an octave mandolin because of the neck length, but I’m sure some folk would disagree.
Either way the music is amazing!!
