Hey Simone! Another "Ear Break"

I feel I am just about through this “ear process”.

It’s been 3 “ish” years now.

I am able to work these out by ear a LOT faster now.

Everything takes dedicated practice if you truly want to be good at it.

Figured some guitar pickers out there might want to see how I worked this break out…for reference.

I typically post these “by ear” pieces when I finally get them to the point that I can perform them. Each piece gets cleaner and better over the days, weeks, months, and years…practice makes perfect.

Wow, it would take me about 10ish years to get to where I could listen and figure out what you did there. Good job.

I’ve been hearing this song by Tina Adair, but I didn’t know it’s a song that’s been around for a long time. I’m starting to think there is no such thing as a new bluegrass song. What version were you listening to when you were learning to play it?

Hey Jesse! You’re sure knocking down that by ear song list, & its sounding great! Thanks for posting this!

This is the version. Clarence White is “the man” in the guitar flat picking world. He’s considered to be the father of modern bluegrass by a large crowd of pickers.

Oh and keep practicing. You’ll get there. Consider it a test in discipline and patience.

Hope to get that BS Loser up at some point over the next week. Fingers are sore again today.

Hot out. Too hot to work outside. Hibernating like I do in the muck, mess, and cold in the dead of winter.

I’m at the point in life where I don’t have to do anything. Hibernate during the heat of summer and dark months of winter. Other 8 months are for working. Hard to get accustomed to being lazy though. I’m currently on the fence. Getting real close to enjoying it. A lazy man gets to spend more time on ear training though.
