I don’t know if this is the right place to post this, but I saw somebody did the same, so I said: “Why not?”
Soooo, hey guys, I just wanted you to know that I’m new here, and I like playing the banjo and reading philosophy books

Welcome to the forums @sandi.bike1. I’m not a banjo picker but there sure are a lot of good banjo folks on here.
Welcome, @sandi.bike1! I, too, enjoy playing the banjo. Gotta admit I haven’t read many philosophy books lately…
Welcome @sandi.bike1 ! I’ve been a member for a few years and have found the Forums to be great places to help in developing ur skills and polishing old ones. The Forums are full of people of all different skill levels so never be afraid to ask a question! Lots of good info already on here too if you use the search bar.
Hi @sandi.bike1 to @BanjoBen 's Forum I can’t help with philosophy but if you have a banjo query I’ll do my best to offer some help or guidance.
Welcome to The Forum. Glad to have ya. How long have ya been playing?
Hello @sandi.bike1, welcome to the forum! No banjo here but maybe on philosophy discussions.
Welcome to the Forum! Steve Martin once observed that banjo players tend to be very smart people. Who am I to argue with him? Although I myself am just a Beginner, I have discovered playing the banjo is the ultimate in philosophy. You’ll encounter questions such as:
“If God really did make everything, why did he make mosquitoes or banjos?”
“Why did I ever start playing this stupid thing anyway!” (A FAQ when one’s fingers do not do what one desires.)
"“If musicians are supposed to be sensitive, how can banjo players ignore all those jokes?”
“Are banjo players musicians?”
“Do you know that song from the movie?”
Yes, your philosophical journey, paired with a banjo, holds great promise to bring you sublime enlightenment. As G.K. Chesterton observed, “Anything worth doing is worth doing badly.”
All it takes is practice.
I want to thank everybody for the warm welcome; it makes my heart feel at home.
Hello @sandi.bike1. Welcome! I’m only a few months old here on the forum myself but I’ve found it a very helpful and friendly place. It has definitely increased the speed and joy with which I learn. What philosophers are you reading currently? Classical greek? Modern? Postmodern? Existential or Nihilistic?
Hi @sandi.bike1! There are no lack of banjo philosophers on the forum, even if they don’t like to use that label. A rose by any other name is still a rose…but beware of the thorns! (just kidding). Welcome to the forum!
