Help with a song (New Name in Glory)

I’ve been working on putting together the a solo for an old gospel song called “A New Name in Glory” that has an upbeat tempo kind of like Unclouded Day. I could use some help on a few measures that have repeating notes.

Katie gave me a rough idea of an approach at cabin camp by going up the neck for some of the followers, but unfortunately I didn’t write it down and so it’s all gone now.

The problem is the repeating quarter notes of melody in measure 2, 6, and 10 specifically in the verse. I can play it like it’s written but it sounds muddled and bland. Hoping to get some ideas from this group.

(And if you get bored feel free to toss out any help on measure 27-28.)

This is absolutely fantastic. Gonna be playing around with this tonight!!!

Thank you for the info and gracious help.

Thank you again. The simple rolls really make it both sound better and easier to play. Now I’m excited about our next gospel pick-n-sing.

I still want to add some ornamentation to it with slides/hammer-ons/pull-offs, but I’ll get there in time.

Here’s the updated version with the new version as a 3rd instrument for anyone interested.

Man, that is really good! That’s exactly what I was talking about! Yes, work on some ornaments and keep me posted…exciting!
