Forum - Banjo Ben Clark

Hello Everyone

Hi Y’all,

It has been awhile since last I checked in. I hope this message finds you all well and above all… healthy.

Missing my Banjo… (R.I.P.) but still playin’ Mando, working, praising and studying… not necessarily in that order :sunglasses:

God Bless and wishing you all great happiness in these “interesting” times! Stay safe!

What happened to your Banjo? Did I miss something? At any rate, welcome back! I see you live east of Milford or thereabouts. Hey, if you ever get up to around Owosso or Corunna, let me know. It would be great to see you out here on the farm!

@Deere_Crossing, My banjo finally died during a week last year during COVID when I was trying to enter one of Banjo Ben’s contests… to win a Banjo! Lol…

I had a inexpensive Epiphone MB-100 open back and the 5th string tuner finally just gave out. Not to mention, the brackets on the head were slipping off… unable to allow tightening.

I don’t think it worth the time or expense to fix versus just buying something new and more of a mid-level instrument.

Someday…

Don’t fret (pun intended) that I enjoy playing my Eastman Mandolin. Yup, Commerce is east of Milford. We have lakes all around us and since Commerce doesn’t have a “downtown proper”, we still can get over to Milford in 15 minutes.

We (a large group of friends) are north-bound to go to Mackinaw and up into the Upper (my first time ever, if you can believe it?) to see the Pictured Rocks… but it will be a quick weekend!

Thanks for responding Neil. I hope you are happy being back in the Enchanted Mitten again.

Say, how about all the attention Billy Strings is getting (up from your parts of the state), huh?

Thanks @Archie

Thanks @Simone! Yes, enjoying the Mando adventures but still struggling to practice regularly with lots happening between Work, Certification training, son’s graduation and college prep.

Hope you are well and also gettin’ in some quality pickin’ time!

Billy Strings… amazing guy. Playing in Detroit soon I see. Have fun on your trip up north. You’ll be passing close to Tahquamenon Falls on your way to pictured rocks. It’s the second largest waterfall east of the Mississippi. Worth seeing. The walk around the lower falls island is very spectacular. I’ve wanted to Kayak pictured rocks. Ancient Jacobsville sandstone. Have fun!

Hi @JohnM,

Sorry for the delayed response. The job is really good. I work with great people and while there is lots to do… working with good people makes all the difference!

I hope you and your family are well and safe!
