What is perfect in that context is this. When God makes sun to rise, it rises on both good and evil people. When God makes it to rain, it rains on both good and evil people. So when you love, not just your friends but your enemies too. When you salute, not just your friends but your enemies too. Doing likewise, or doing whatever Jesus taught, is what is considered perfect. Being without blame in love is what is perfect!

Check out Matthew 5:43-48.

Jesus’ word means Jesus’ commandments. Hearing his word means understanding and accepting his word with an intent to keep it. The opposite is, not understanding, or ignoring, or rejecting his word.

What that means is, if you say you believe on God, you listen to or take heed to whatever Jesus say. Because as Paul says in Hebrews 1:1,2, God’s voice is now exclusive in Jesus’ word.

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
How do you try or test the spirit?

I get my teachings from the BIBLE. I take it literally, and I don’t have to wonder what believing on Jesus actually is.

Yes, a false teaching or gospel— check out Galatians 1:6-8:

6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

7Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

The Gospel is, according to 1 Corinthians 15:

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.

So, if you are not preaching that gospel— the gospel of Jesus Christ— the Bible says “let them be accursed.”

Where in the Bible is it stated that salvation is a process? The Bible doesn’t say “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt start being saved.” It says “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved!”

There is a lot we have discussed. You need to do some re-reading to get it in. From what I said before…

You cannot attain salvation by doing anything that not Jesus commanded you to do - If you do, that is what is works.

You can ONLY attain salvation by keeping (in letter and in spirit) whatever Jesus commanded you to do. - This is what is faith.

I guess this brings in clarity and hope you can understand the difference.

Apply the above to your Galatians understanding on false preacher. I don’t deviate from Paul.

I’m sorry John, but there is NO place in the Bible where is says that you need to keep Jesus’ commandments to attain salvation. That’s only for sanctification, not salvation. The only thing one needs to do to be saved is to receive Jesus Christ as their savior. If you’d like, I can try to find a sermon on the topic and post it here.

Jesus’ word was to trust His finished work on the cross for payment for our sin. Not to keep his commandments for salvation. Sorry.

That is fake gospel. If someone preached like that, he is a fake! That’s all I can say. Its up to you!

You take it literally. That is the problem. That is a wrong thing to do. Bible should be spiritually discerned.

Do you know what a professional service is? Like medicine, law where you will require license (commission) to practice. Unless you are well versant in those fields, you would require external help from licensed people, right? Or else you put yourself in jeopardy. That’s how it works in the kingdom of God too. Ephesians 4:11-13. Here you don’t jeopardize your body, you will jeopardize your more important soul.

I Peter 1:7-9
7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

Philippians 2:12,
