Good Saturday Jam

After suffering from jam withdrawal (it’s a thing, really) I finally got to jam a bit today. (For those not following I wintered in Australia for over 3 months and got to jam every week down there!). A local friend of mine and I co-hosted a jam but there was a local event (Ladies of Bluegrass) that kept some of our normal jammers away. We did, however, have some new faces in our local jam so we had about 6 or 7 in attendance. My friends in Australia caught wind of us trying “There Is a Time” (something they are working on at their jam) and asked for a video. Well, I took one…not the best video, not the best key for me (as it turned out) and my break was horrible…BUT I’ll share it here anyway. Bottom line is we played a couple hours, had some food, good fellowship, etc…great time. Next jam is this coming week!

Thank you, I love that tune. I remember hearing it many years ago on the Andy Griffith show and I believe it was played by the DIllards. The song is a circle of life tune, much like “WIll the Circle Be Unbroken”. Such tunes remind me that life is finite and we should love one another, everyday, with all our heart. Time for me to teach it to my family. :+1: Thanks again!

I’m glad you liked it and I appreciate the feedback. I totally agree with your assessment of the tune. I generally am “the one” to bring gospel (or gospel-like) tunes to bluegrass jams (like “They’re Holding Up the Ladder” and “Little Mountain Church House”….I grew up listening to this stuff. Oh, you’re right, one of the Dillards wrote this song. Have fun teaching it to your family!
