Goals for one month

How about everyone post 2 goals - 1 musical and 1 non-musical - to have accomplished by one month from today. We can hold each other accountable on May 10!

Mine:
Musical: make a complete contest arrangement for Big Mon on guitar
Non-musical: finish writing the book I’m writing (3 chapters left) and proofread the first draft

Oh dear, why are you trying to make my May 9 so stressed???

Music: Finish “In the sweet by and by” on banjo (A few weeks ago I just started back on banjo after surgery). Arrange and get down a fingerstyle ukulele song (I am feeling like the baritone deserves some love). Make a new nut for the baritone ukulele. Play out using two different instruments and partial sets don’t count (stretch goal, go for 3).
Non-music: Get my taxes filed. Get caught up on some stuff. Keep up with PT.

I am trying to get back to some gardening and playing banjo. Perhaps this thread will inspire me. I don’t feel I’m ready to set any new goals at this time.

My goals for this month (sorry Libby, I like to think in threes ):

  • Enjoy the intermediate clawhammer lessons at camp this week
  • Finish teaching my last course at our local college and retire from that endeavor
  • Use the extra time to set daily Scruggs style, clawhammer, and guitar practice—first time attempting guitar

Reminder - we’ve got 1 week left on our goals!
(I’m editing mine slightly because the contest song I’m working on is actually now The Old Spinning Wheel)

Wow, waiting till a week beforehand to finalize a contest arrangement!? What kind of person would do that?!?

Managed to tidy up the garden a little, cut the grass one time. The 2000 spring bulbs I planted in pots last fall have been slow to show. Have managed to haul my twanger out of it’s case a couple of times but I have not been inspired to take on any new goals. Murphy Henry’s Old Spinning Wheel was the first tune I learned to play in the key of C. Those of you who play banjo should check it out it has a particularly challenging ending lick.
