Dude… Better get to it!
Galax Fiddlers Convention
Man, he’s got a whole week. No rush.
I’ve had VBS at church all week.
6 days actually, sorry.
Eh, close enough to a workweek.
Hey thankfully it dosent take too long to get arrangements down, when I learned Jakes three versions of little cabin home on the hill, I had them all up to speed in a couple days. Thats with 1-2 hours each day.
Youth contest last night was so fun! Hundreds of children under 15 played. Our 8-year-old brother Leo got 2nd place mandolin, 11-year-old Levi got 4th place banjo, and their band The Brothers Five got 3rd place band. We were so proud of them!
Um, what time am I supposed to get to the park?
Whenever you want to. Nothing much happens till the evening, but people hang out and jam here and there - though there’s more jamming at night.
Good luck to everyone competing. Enjoy your time being around all that music!
Great news Libby
What time do people start to get there and jam? We just went over and it was super dead like you said. Do they start after lunch or something? I just don’t want to get there early and have to drive back and forth to the hotel but I don’t want to be late and miss it.
Go back to sleep so you can stay up all night. That’s kind of the schedule. Things will start to pick up around mid afternoon and the contests start at 6:00, and then people jam at night. That’s just the way it works here cause it’s so hot during the day. We’re camping across the street at Old Cranks RV Park. Maybe we can meet up and jam later on.
Well, we’re gonna head over now. Looking forward to hearing everybody!
Yes I’ll try, as soon as I can upload them. But beware Archie, you don’t like videos where me and my family cheer and scream outrageously
I don’t mind you cheering and screaming outrageously after the performance is over. During the performance I like to hear the performer not the audience. unless it’s audience participation.
Well we did both. We let Leo and Levi know we liked their hot licks throughout the song
Here’s Leo’s song! He did so well!
