Favorite Christmas CDs

What is everyone’s favorite Christmas CD?

I was never the biggest fan of Christmas music but the playing on this album is phenomenal!

“A Charlie Brown Christmas” by the Vince Guaraldi Trio, no question!

I like this one…but I’m definitely biased.

We listen to a lot of the old-time Christmas music, like from Bing Crosby, the Andrews sisters, Dean Martin, and a few others. (This is what we listen to most of the time when we do listen to something https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=GHaRsbAZiyE&t=0s) I also enjoy these Christmas albums:

Roy Rogers and Dale Evans: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_kYfAv0F2YiKg_Ppr-rwQEnwDVRaZcmoUQ

I really enjoyed the Soltice Sisters—thanks for sharing that. And I agree with Michael, Charlie Brown Christmas is a classic favorite, but there are so many more. One of my earliest favorites was Andy Williams. I especially liked his “Do You Hear What I Hear?” On this album:

And another was the Carpenters Christmas Album:

But one of my earliest favorites was “The Little Drummer Boy” by the Harry Simeone Choir (used in the ‘67 TV show).
Currently one of my favorites is the Piano Guys version of Fur Elise—“Fur Elise Jam”. I have a granddaughter named Elise and she thinks it’s “For Elise” and loves this version:

And I really like this live version of “Little Drummer Boy” by King and Country:

My 2 favorites are (kind of) listed above. “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and “the Andy Williams Christmas album” (which is the red one). It’s not a Christmas album, but I also love George Winston’s “Winter.” Honorable mentions include the Brian Setzer Orchestra and Manheim Steamroller. I also have several old time/bluegrass compilations of traditional Christmas music that get lots of play this time of year.

have mostly listened to country music Christmas albums, some of my favorites I’ve had over the years are (I can’t remember the actually album names):

George Strait
SheDaisey
Garth Brooks
Vince Gill

When I was growing up we didn’t have a lot of albums, my parents just did not get any then I would just buy single 45’s. The only Christmas album I really remember listing to was Gene Autry’s “Rudolph the Red Nosed Rain Deer” album. My father does like all the singing cowboy movies. We must have had a re-issue of it because the album cover that is shown in All Music is not what I remember and it was originally released when my dad was still in high school.

I was going to say that that shouldn’t count, but right now, I’m recording my own.:rofl:

Did he/you prefer Gene Autry or Roy Rogers? I like them both, but I’m kind of partial to Roy Rogers. He was a very outspoken Christian, especially during the latter half of his career.

I don’t think there is a Western “good guy” that my did doesn’t like.

Did you know that the grand parents of country singer “Suzy Bogguss” were later in life friends of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. She told a story of going to visit her grandparents in the summer as a kid and eating “TV dinners” in Roy Rogers living room.

That’s really cool!

My great-grandfather met Roy Rogers at a Southern Baptist Convention once. They sat across the aisle from each other!

Also, my great-grandmother (on another side of the family), worked at a children’s hospital that he visited.

This is my newest and my favorite Christmas song. I loved spending time with my siblings as we all recorded this song!
