Fairness in Media

So, Newsweek just put out an article on the upcoming election.

At the end of the article, the reader has the option to rate the article for fairness. (Left, Right, Hard Left, Hard Right, so on).

I found this quite refreshing. I hope a lot more media organizations start doing this. I’m sure there’s the potential to skew this, but I like the option, just the same.

As an aside to an issue I was talking about, I expressed that it should be mandated the articles cannot be published on the internet unless an option like a comment box is provided to share counter views and that uniquely identifiable IDs be used to prevent fake ids. This was 5 months ago, and it appeared it was taken up by Nikki Haley’s team. But when fellow Republicans countered it, Nikki could not follow it through. I would have easily debunked the counter! Maybe I will find and share what I shared.

So, I like the direction to go with fairness but more than just a mere rating, it should also be supported by an explanation on why so, unless the person had nothing more to add.
