I think I have been winding the strings with too much string wrapped around the tuning post.

I have too much string wrapped around too as I was reluctant to cut the extra bit out (maybe you can cut it out) but it does not give me problems except that it takes a while to wind/unwind. I also keep my guitar in a case but also at room temp of around 70 degree. Maybe it is to do with the action… Here is some recommendations… Discuss the Guitar lesson: Sweet By-and-By- Fingerstyle

Thanks @jmonickaraj1, I normally keep my guitar on a wall hanger but put it in the case that night to see if it would help protect from corrosion, etc… the humidity is about 70% here

Hi Michael, yeah the weather definitely plays a part… and sounds like in your case since it changes without you touching it… not had too much humidity around wherever I am. But I always case it.
