Just read on the BBC News page that US country music superstar Dolly Parton has pledged $1m to Vanderbilt University, in her home state of Tennessee, to support research into a cure for Covid-19.
On Twitter, Parton said she hoped to inspire “people that can afford it to make donations” as well.
As I recall Dolly did a lot to help her community in Pigeon Forge after the big fire that swept through the county a few years back
Also hearing that Georgia and Mississippi have issued stay-at-home orders, after the nearby state of Florida took the same action earlier today.
