Thanks Ben, great series. Can you clarify if the movement comes more from forearm rotation as you teach in bluegrass rhythm guitar (“shaking off a wet dollar bill”) and as JP seems to be doing in the free movement without the pick, or is it from moving the arm/wrist up and down parallel to the plane of the strings?

It’s a combination of the two, but you have to have some rotation for sure.
