Are the frets further apart on the F Style mandolin Ben’s playing than are the frets on my new A-Style Kentucky KM 150? The frets on my mandolin look much smaller and closer together. I’ve got small hands but the frets are really small and close even for me.
No, they should be about the same as most mandolin scale lengths are standard. Mine is a wide nut, but that makes it wider from the G string to the E string, but doesn’t change the fret widths from first to second, etc.
