Such a beautiful melody.
That’s a keeper.
Amen brother Ben
Thanks for these Hymn Studies lessons Ben, I love these old songs!!
I gave it a like before even listening… great choice!
Can I give it another like for drop D? Seriously, very nice. It’s quite a bit different from how I typically play it in G shape on guitar. Looking forward to this one!
Thank you brother Ben for this great hymn arrangement and devotion!
Something I have been thinking about in how to share the Gospel with friends and family is how to talk about sin. It’s an uncomfortable subject. One reason so people today dismiss church and Christianity because they have no concept of sin. Modern man does not think sin is actually a problem, not knowing in reality… sin is the only problem. But I like the way the subject is handled here, “To rid my soul of one dark blot”. For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. (1st Pete 3:18)
Amen brother! People don’t come to Christ until they realize they truly need Him.
I. LOVE. THIS. LESSON!!! Such a tasteful setting of this in duet form. Sooo musical! The simplicity and beauty of it corresponds to how simply we come to Jesus…just as we are. Hope I can do it justice. @BanjoBen, you’ve done it again! Just a masterful arrangement brother!
Ben, This the reason I became a gold pick member. As you talk about the song your faith in Jesus is so apparent. I truly appreciate your humility and sincerity. Great job and I can hardly wait for the guitar lesson. Thank you.
Love the hymns Ben. I assume it is ok to use your guitar track and play along with my mandolin at Church? If so perhaps you would consider in the future doing the countdown with drumsticks or something a bit more subtle for that setting? No biggie, just a thought… Thanks
In case Ben doesn’t see this soon, I am confident that he would love for you to use the track in that way! You could edit the MP3 pretty easy to drop the volume on the count in.
For sure! I’d be honored, @johnmarkva. I’ve actually re-uploaded the audio to have 4 high hats as a count off (though it’s tough to get the tempo right).
Oh my soul, how I wish that you would make this testimony shareable, then I would share it everywhere! This is such a heartfelt and wonderful story and you have told it so well. Thank you for such a beautiful blessing from the Words of God!
Hi Willard, You can share this message. Send your friends a link to @BanjoBen 's website and invite them to join as a Silver Pick Member. I do believe they could then access this lesson for FREE.
This is so beautiful an arrangement and rendering! I love hymn study series idea. Looking forward to the guitar lesson too.
