Man couldn’t wait till friday eh? Love the sound of this tune especially on the mando. Great job!
Ha! We’re headed to Montana first thing Friday and I just wanted to get this out there! Yep, I love this mandolin. Thanks!
Oh boy, this lesson has gotten me excited. I’m on the road for a few days so I’ll have to wait to start. I “kinda picked out” the melody on my mandolin based off the guitar lesson. Hopefully my brain hasn’t saved too many bad habits in that short amount of time.
I really liked the song and the lesson. I found it inspiring. So I went back again to review the double stop part one and double stop exercise lessons. And I got more inspired to try something I’ve never tried and that was to write out the tab to a song that my husband plays, enhance it by using what I learned from home on the range lesson and other lessons then play the song along with my husband. Extremely challenging for me. So far I wrote out the tab to the first verse — no enhancements included yet. It’s going to take me a while to do. I hope I can get this done.
Well, I am re-considering my challenge. I guess I’m not quite ready. But it will be a future goal.
This lesson had just the right amount of challenge for my “advanced beginner” status. I was challenging but it has been very “learnable” (I am really having to put a lot of quote marks around some of my “words”).
It really helped me focus keeping strings held down to keep them resonating while still hitting other strings.
