Discuss the Mandolin lesson: 2 Octave Scale Exercises

We all hear these players that seamlessly transition from down the neck to up the neck in a split second, and we wonder…how did they do that?! One way is by using a catapult note to enable a smooth transition from a low position to a high position…which is EXACTLY what these scale exercises teach you to do! After practicing these exercises, you’ll see how we can use open strings to really open up the fretboard!

I continue to work on this lesson and am starting to get all you promise; speed, muscle memory and altho this part is slow, knowing what specific note I’m on. What’s the next step? How do I translate this knowledge into applying it into actual tunes? Excellent finger workout, especially B.
