I’m a little partial to this fiddle tune, being that I’m redheaded and also male. This melody moves a lot! It can be challenging to get ahold of, but the reward is worth it!

I’ve learned a couple dozen fiddle tunes (including this one), but have only learned the chords to maybe 25% of them. These pick alongs are a great way for me to learn the chord structure.
What’s the story on that Northfield Mandolin? It sounds great, but looks like it’s had a hard life.
I love the text commentary through these of tips and thoughts as you play through the song. Super helpful!
Thanks! We had traveled to Nashville from Texas and I didn’t take a mandolin with me, thinking I had one in Nashville. I had to borrow this one from my sister, Penny. It has had a hard life, not because it’s very old, but because it’s Penny who owns it.
Them Texas ladies are tough
New Mando player on ‘ pick along’. I can follow the chords but what are the number that come up after the chords
Welcome, @skibumstoo! Those are the Nashville numbers. Take a moment and watch this course: https://banjobenclark.com/lessons/the-nashville-number-system-beginner
Any tab or TEF for this lesson?
Hey John, PickAlongs don’t include any tabs since their purpose is a guide video/track for you to jam along with. Ben does have step-by-step lessons (w/PDF and TEF tabs) for Red Haired Boy on all three instruments, however.
